Gourvennec Leaves Guingamp

Guingamp have announced their decision to part company with coach Jocelyn Gourvennec following their relegation. The 47-year-old took charge in November after the sacking of Antoine Kombouare, returning to the Stade de Roudourou after a previous six-year spell in charge.

However, things did not go to plan but Gourvennec was adamant he was keen to try and guide the club in Ligue 1, despite their relegation. The board have now decided otherwise, confirming their decision to let him go ahead of their final game of the season at Amiens on Friday night.

A statement read: “After taking the time each time to reflect, but after having taken all the time necessary to exchange serenely and honestly, the two parties have decided by mutual agreement to end their collaboration. “The club thanks Jocelyn for his unforgettable contribution to his recent history, and wishes him the best for the rest of his career. “This honest decision for both parties marks the departure of each to a new project.”
