Huddersfield’s physicality is a major worry ahead of Saturday’s match, admits Watford boss Javi Gracia. The pair clash at Vicarage Road with the Terriers still to pick up a Premier league win this season but they have shown gradual signs of improvement and were unfortunate not to take anything from last Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to Liverpool.
In contrast, the Hornets sit seventh following their 2-0 victory at Wolves but have been second best to Town over the last year, losing both home and away last season, with their 4-1 win in Hertfordshire arguably their performance of the season.
Gracia admits his side cannot take anything for granted at the weekend, conceding that the Yorkshire club’s physicality and strength from set-pieces is always a worry, especially away from home.
“They defeated us twice last season and we know it will be a very difficult game for us. We have to show our best and try and be demanding,” the Spaniard said.
“You can see from their results, whenever they have played away from home they have scored a goal. Whether they lose or draw, they always score.
“They are very powerful from set-pieces, throw-ins, corners and it will not be easy defending against them.”
