Wigan will not appeal Joe Greenwood’s charge for dangerous contact against Wakefield so he is set to miss Friday’s Warrington clash. The in-form forward was charged with a Grade A offence in the 25-10 win on Thursday and boss Shaun Wane has indicated he will not appeal, so Greenwood is set to sit out Friday’s next Super 8s game.
Wane is assessing his squad ahead of the Wolves showdown and has a major injury doubt over captain Sean O’Loughlin, who suffered a calf setback against Trinity, while prop Ben Flower is also struggling with injury.
Both players will be given time to try and prove their fitness but are facing a tough fight to be available as Wigan look to cement second place in the Betfred Super League Super 8s.
Dom Manfredi may finally get the chance to make his comeback after almost two years on the sidelines, while prop Taulima Tautai is also available again after completing his four-match ban.
