Gunners Scout Sees Holders Humbled

Arsenal’s top Eastern European scout saw CSKA Moscow beat Real Madrid on Tuesday with a goal from Everton loan man Nikola Vlasic. The Croatian attacking midfielder is making Marco Silva regret his decision to let him leave on loan with some impressive displays for the Russian outfit, but Arsenal could have been watching other players.

Real winger Lucas Vazquez was linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium in the summer, but remained in Spain after sensing more opportunities could come his way after the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo.

The 27-year-old, however, has been a substitute for all seven of Real’s league matches this season and was replaced after 58 minutes on Tuesday as the Champions League holders crashed to a 1-0 defeat at the Luzhniki Stadium.

Another interesting player on show was Real Madrid left-back Sergio Reguilon, who made his senior debut for the club in Moscow.

The 21-year-old impressed Real coach Julen Lopetegui in pre-season but, as it stands, will be out of contract at the Bernabeu in 2020.
