Gunners Set To Offer Aubameyang Improved Terms

Arsenal are reportedly set to offer Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang an improved contract to ward off interest from the Chinese Super League. Gabon international Aubameyang finished as Arsenal’s top scorer last season with 31 goals, 22 of which came in the Premier League as he shared the Golden Boot with Liverpool duo Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.

The 29-year-old only arrived at the Emirates Stadium in January 2018 and has a further two years to run on his contract, but that has not stopped Chinese Super League clubs Guangzhou Evergrande and Shanghai SIPG from reportedly showing an interest.

In response to the interest from China, Arsenal are now reportedly set to offer Aubameyang improved terms that will see him earn £190,000-a-week, meaning only Mesut Ozil will have a more lucrative playing contract at the club. The Gunners are hopeful those terms, coupled with a substantial loyalty bonus, will be enough to convince Aubameyang to ignore interest from the Far East.

Aubameyang’s strike partner Alexandre Lacazette has also been linked with a move away from the club, amid reported interest from Barcelona, and the Gunners are also said to be considering offering the France international a new deal.
