Gunners Target, Aarons Pens New Deal

Norwich teenager Max Aarons has turned his back on a move to Arsenal for now after he signed a new five-year deal with the Canaries. The 18-year-old, who made his first-team breakthrough at Carrow Road this season, and has already caught the eye of the Gunners, will remain in Norfolk until 2023.

Full-back Aarons signed his first professional contract with Norwich earlier this year and has been further rewarded after making nine appearances in all competitions for Daniel Farke’s side.

Arsenal along with Chelsea were said to be keeping a very close eye on the defender, prompting Norwich to get him tied down to a new long-term deal.

Farke told the club’s official website: “From the first moment he was with us he has improved each and every day, his consistency in his performances is outstanding.

“He’s just 18 years old, it’s outstanding at such a young age with such good performances, I hope we can develop him further.”

Arsenal will no doubt continue to keep tabs on him and a future move cannot be ruled out.
