Gunners are keen to bring in a new central defender in January, with Brentford’s Ezri Konsa said to be a £15million target. The 21-year-old only joined the Bees in the summer when he arrived from Charlton for just £2.85million but his price tag has skyrocketed in a short space of time.
That is mainly down to the fact he has put in some assured displays for Brentford this season, which have caught the eye of some top clubs, including Arsenal who has been ploting a move for the younger star in other to boost their defence option this season.
Gunners boss Unai Emery saw first hand what the player is capable off after he impressed in Arsenal’s 3-1 win over Brentford in the Carabao Cup earlier in the season.
Arsenal have been paying very close attention ever since, and reports now suggest Emery has sanctioned an approach for the youngster when the transfer window opens.
Brentford will be keen to keep hold on the young talent since he is a key figure but are unable to turn down a big offer from the likes of Arsenal and are unlikely to stand in the player’s way either.
