Arsenal are being linked with a swoop for Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski but the Italian side are keen to tie him to a new deal. The 24-year-old was attracting plenty of attention before the closure of the English transfer window with both Arsenal and Chelsea known to be keen.
Former Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri, now in charge of Chelsea, was said to be in the box seat, but the Polish star has remained in Naples and could now be in line for a bumper new deal.
Reports in the Italian press claim that Napoli are keen to tie Zielinski down to a contract that will keep him at the club until 2023, although a release clause of 100million euros will be included in it.
That is sure to scare off any interest parties, but until he pens it speculation will continue to rumble on, with reports claiming Arsenal will launch a January bid.
Zielinski signed for Napoli from Udinese in 2016 for a fee of around 14million euros and has gone on to become an integral part of the midfield, with boss Carlo Ancelotti keen to keep hold.
