World number one Simona Halep has been forced to withdraw from the Connecticut Open, citing an Achilles injury as the problem. Halep just lost the Cincinnati Masters final as Kiki Bertens produced the performance of a lifetime to take the win, and it would appear the heavy schedule has now taken its toll on the Romanian, who is keen to rest.
There is now less than a week to go before the start of the US Open at Flushing Meadows, and Halep clearly believes this is the best course of action to take, even if it means disappointing her fans in Connecticut.
“I really wanted to play it and I saw that many fans bought tickets to see me here,” she said in a statement. “But I feel very sore with my Achilles, and I need some rest.
“I had so many matches in the last two weeks, so it’s tough. See you next year, and all the best.”How Natural Herbal Remedy Killed Stubborn Staphylococcus, Ecoli And Aureus And Other Infections
