Widnes Vikings have been boosted by the news Harrison Hansen has penned a one-year deal as they look to return to Super League. Hansen joined the Vikings prior to the club’s 2018 Super 8s campaign and after impressing at the Halton Stadium, his experience is sure to be crucial once again for the 2019 campaign.
The former Wigan Warriors star is delighted to have penned the deal and is looking forward to what the future holds.
“I’m happy to be here and take on the challenge of next year,” Hansen said. “When I sat down with James Rule to discuss next year, and listened to what he had to say about the club and what we’re trying to do, it sounded like something I wanted to be a part of.
“With Hep, and now myself, leading the way from the front next year, it gives us a big chance to rebuild the club, with the goal being to get promoted at the first attempt. Looking at the bigger picture and what we’re trying to do, I thought that it was a good opportunity for me to be part of the team that got Widnes back into Super League.”
Vikings CEO James Rule added: “Harrison is a proven leader, who earns the respect of teammates and supporters wherever he goes.
“In his short spell with the club, his positive impact has been evident for all to see. I’m delighted that Harrison has committed to be a part of our plan to return to Super League.”
