Hasenhuttl Lavishes Praise On Bednarek

Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl has lauded the performances of Jan Bednarek since he took charge at St Mary’s.

Hasenhuttl was named as Mark Hughes’ successor on December 5 and the Austrian tactician was set a huge challenge to avoid Premier League relegation.

Defender Bednarek, who joined from Lech Poznan in July 2017 for £5.7million, has found himself back in favour since the change in manager and he has featured in all 11 league games under the 51-year-old.

Speaking about the Poland international, Hasenhuttl says he has been thoroughly impressed by the 22-year-old. “I’ve seen him from the first day as a really good player,” he was quoted as saying by the Daily Echo.

“From the first training situation, I had the feeling he could give us much more. “From the moment I came, the trust I put in him, he’s paid back every minute he’s played. He’s been amazing.

The saves he’s made sometimes have helped us to get a lot of points. “I’ve been thinking the positives and deficits every player has and I haven’t found a lot of deficits in his game.”
