Hasenhuttl Wants Strong Finish From Saints

Ralph Hasenhuttl has called on his Southampton players to end the Premier League season with a “good win” against Huddersfield.

The Saints boss has been a huge success since replacing Mark Hughes at St Mary’s having guided the side to Premier League safety with a couple of games to spare.

However, Hasenhuttl was disappointed with Saturday’s performance at West Ham as the players looked lacklustre on their way to a 3-0 drubbing at London Stadium.

The Saints have one final game against already-relegated Huddersfield on Sunday and the Austrian is looking to send the home fans away for the summer on a high.

Hasenhuttl told the club’s website: “The last few weeks were very intense for us as a team. We have one more game at home now where we want to play differently from how we did against West Ham.

We want to show our fans that we can finish with a good win for them. “The target is to end in the best way possible, getting the energy back and mentally being ready to finish the season with a good win. It would be a good ending to this season if we can do that against Huddersfield.”
