Hasnain Has Arthur Buzzing

Pakistan head coach Mickey Arthur feels young fast bowler Mohammad Hasnain has that unknown quantity that can bring success. Hasnain was selected in the Asian nation’s 15-man squad for this summer’s 50-over World Cup in England – one of two 19-year-old’s in the party along with left-arm quick Shaheen Afridi.

He made his debut in a recent one-day series against Australia but took just two wickets for 156 runs across three matches against the Baggy Greens. Nevertheless, Arthur remains a big fan and has reiterated his stance that the Hyderabad-born ace has a special quality.

“His pace is the most impressive and he has the potential of an international player,” the South African tactician told AFP. “He could be the X-factor for us.” Pakistan were beaten 5-0 in that series and are outsiders to win the World Cup, with a five-match series against England on the horizon following Sunday’s one-off Twenty 20 in Cardiff.
