Chelsea assistant boss Gianfranco Zola believes forward Eden Hazard is yet to reach the peak of his powers. Hazard came off the bench in Wednesday’s Carabao Cup third round tie at Liverpool to score the winning goal.
Daniel Sturridge had put Liverpool ahead shortly after Hazard’s introduction before Emerson netted the equaliser from close range.
The Belgian ensured Chelsea’s progression in the latter stages when he smashed home after a fine individual run.
Zola was full of praise for the Hazard at the full-time whistle but believes the forward can still take his game to another level.
“He [Hazard] is not only one of the best in the Premier League, if not the best, but he’s one of the best in Europe and the world,” Zola said.
“Eden’s growing fast, he’s growing fast in maturity, in choices he’s making on the pitch and I think, in my opinion, we haven’t seen the best yet.”
