Heaton Hails Much-Improved Clarets

Keeper Tom Heaton has described Burnley’s return to winning form as “brilliant” but he admits “there’s still a lot of work to do”.

The Clarets have won their last three Premier League games with the 2-1 win over Fulham on Saturday coming off the back of victories over West Ham and Huddersfield, while they also saw off Barnsley in the FA Cup third round earlier this month.

Their better form has coincided with Heaton’s return to the side and the England international admits he’s delighted with the improvement.

He said on the club’s website: “To produce three league wins on the bounce has been brilliant. It’s tight. We are moving up the table and I think the belief and the confidence floods back in. I think you can see that now.”

Heaton knows there is a long way to go and Burnley must maintain their form if they are to ensure they’re not dragged into the relegation zone, with Saturday’s win leaving Sean Dyche’s side 15th but only three points clear of the bottom three.

He added: “Of course, we don’t think it’s job done. We want to keep moving things forward, improving the performances and see where we can go with that.

“There’s a still a lot of work to do. Football has a habit of catching you if you think you’ve cracked it, so we will keep working in day-in, day-out.”
