Midfielder Jordan Henderson insists Liverpool are determined to prove their worth when they face Paris Saint-Germain. The Reds will welcome the Ligue 1 champions to Anfield on Tuesday night as the teams meet in the Champions League.
PSG have once again spent big and made changes in their quest for European glory, while Liverpool reached the final of the competition last season.
The Anfield outfit were beaten by Real Madrid in Kiev and Henderson wants to prove the run was no fluke.
Jurgen Klopp’s side scored 47 goals in 15 European games and Henderson admits he is excited to experience European football once again.
He told This Is Anfield: “It’s less than four months since our last game in the Champions League and in all honesty tonight’s fixture against PSG could not have come around quickly enough.
“Getting to the final last season was a great achievement, even though it didn’t go the way we wanted it to in the end, but what happened en route showed that we can hold our own at this level. Now we have to do it all again.
“So while we welcome PSG – as a team which has our total respect – to Anfield we do so with a determination to show our best and to remind Europe that what happened in 2017-18 was not a flash in the pan.”
