Herrera Happy To Wait For United Talks

Ander Herrera claims he is willing to put new contract talks on hold as he is fully focused on playing well for Manchester United. The 29-year-old Spain international midfielder, who moved to Old Trafford in summer 2014 from Athletic Bilbao, will see his current deal expire at the end of the season which would leave him free to move to another club.

However, Herrera has become a key man under interim coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and it was being reported that talks would commence in the near future about tying him down to a long-term stay.

But with the Red Devils chasing a Premier League top-four finish, FA Cup glory and have a two-legged Champions League last-16 tie against Paris Saint-Germain on the horizon, Herrera is happy to concentrate on footballing matters for now.

He said: “I’m not going to talk about my contract. We have more important things happening now than my contract so I just try to perform. “My priority is to beat Burnley, Leicester… and if I deserve a new contract, the contract will come. I’m not a selfish guy, I want the team to keep winning games, I don’t go crazy about my contract.”
