Higuain Set For Chelsea Exit

Higuain Set For Chelsea Exit

Chelsea have no intention of keeping Gonzalo Higuain beyond the end of the season, reports in Italy have revealed.

Higuain arrived at Stamford Bridge on loan in the January transfer window, but has struggled to adapt to life in the Premier League when scoring just four goals in 14 appearances.

Reports in the Italian press now claim that Chelsea have no intention of signing the 31-year-old on a permanent basis and will send him back to Juventus at the end of the loan.

Juve are also keen to offload and it has been suggested they will use the Argentina international to try and land Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi in a swap deal.

There is also the possibility that Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri could follow Higuain out of the Bridge exit door following a turbulent first season at the club.

Chelsea head into a huge game against Manchester United on Sunday with a chance of still finishing in the top four, while Europa League glory is also a possibility, so any decisions will not be made just yet.
