Horne Hoping To Take Chances

Scotland scrum-half George Horne says he hopes to take his opportunities and impress for his country at the World Cup in Japan. The Glasgow No.9 has an outstanding tryscoring record at club level, having scored 22 tries in 42 appearances for the Warriors.

Horne finds himself down the pecking order in the national side, with the likes of Greig Laidlaw and Ali Price currently ahead of him under head coach Gregor Townsend. However, Horne is determined to take his opportunities when they come around and feels he can learn plenty from the likes of Laidlaw and Price in Japan. “I want to start more games. Every player will tell you that,” he said.

“I know how it is, though. Greig runs the game exceptionally well and that’s something I need to work on. Ali’s basic skills of passing and kicking are unbelievable, so I need to match the boys in those areas. “I have a lot to learn, but I think I can make an impact. I don’t sulk. I come on the field and try to make a difference.”
