Red Bull team boss Christian Horner feels the return of the Dutch Grand Prix in 2020 will be huge for the sport. It has been announced that the high-octane sport will return to the Netherlands for the first time since 1985, with the race tipped to take place at the historic Zandvoort circuit on May 10 next year.

Max Verstappen has been flying the flag for Dutch F1 fans after becoming one of the sport’s biggest stars. The Red Bull youngster has a huge following at the European races and his participation at Zandvoort will guarantee a sell-out crowd. Reaction to the news has been positive and Horner feels it is good for all concerned – especially his lead driver.
“A Dutch Grand Prix, with Max’s popularity, will be immense,” he said. Chase Carey, chairman and chief executive of Formula 1, said: “We’re particularly pleased to announce that Formula 1 is returning to race in the Netherlands, at the Zandvoort track. “From the beginning of our tenure in Formula 1, we said we wanted to race in new venues, while also respecting the sport’s historic roots in Europe.”
