Striker Troy Deeney admits he is in a good place after scoring in Watford’s 3-1 win at Burnley on Sunday afternoon. The 30-year-old has bagged 106 goals from 311 outings for the Hornets but had failed to score since early March before slotting home at Turf Moor following Abdoulaye Doucoure’s superb pass.
It helped Watford secure their second Premier League win of the season to sit fourth in the table with maximum points.
Deeney’s future at Vicarage Road was called into question after a return of just five top-flight goals last term but it seems as though the club’s talisman is now right where he wants to be.
“I’ve got the buzz back, as well as the desire, the hunger and all the other things that you need,” he told the club’s official website. “I’ve got my head right and it’s proving alright so far.
“But I don’t want to get carried away and think after two games that my season is complete. It’s got to be continuous and the hard work starts tomorrow.”
