Watford are watching non-league midfielder Adam Lovatt, but face competition from several Premier League and Football League clubs. The 18-year-old Hastings United midfielder was this week linked with Brighton and Hove Albion, Watford and Crystal Palace.
However, West Brom have now taken a look at him in Hastings’ Bostik League Velocity Trophy first round tie at East Grinstead on Tuesday.
Lovatt, who came through the youth system at Isthmian League South East Division Hastings, could be lined up for move in the January transfer window.
He played the full 90 minutes as Hastings came from 2-0 down to win 9-2 on Tuesday with striker Daniel Ajakaiye netting four times to take his tally for the season to 14.
Several Football League clubs have also been monitoring the teenager this season with Sunderland, Blackburn Rovers and Luton closely following developments.
