Howe Hails Mepham Progress

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe says Chris Mepham has already made huge strides during his short spell at the club.

The defender only arrived at the club in January after Bournemouth paid Brentford a reported £12million for his signature and Howe has been delighted with the way he has adapted to the Premier League.

Mepham has already faced Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City and shown he is capable of competing with the big boys, and Howe thinks he will only get better.

“All these experiences will be invaluable for Chris,” the Cherries boss said. “These are big moments in his career and he will be soaking everything up.

“He’s a very studious guy. He’s very serious about his football and has made a really good start. “He’s been thrown in to a degree due to Steve Cook’s injury but he’s grown already in the games he’s played and I back him to continue to do so.”
