Howe Keeps Cool Despite Poor Run

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe is refusing to push the panic just yet despite the Cherries alarming run of form continuing at the weekend.

Howe’s men started the season in electric fashion, sweeping aside most that was put before them and forcing themselves into the top six of the Premier League in the process.

A sixth-successive away league defeat, when going down 2-0 at Everton on Sunday, represents their worst run since 1994-95 when they were in the third tier.

Just two wins in 14 matches in all competitions has seen the Cherries slip to 12th in the table but the manager is not too worried just yet.

“I think when you don’t win, confidence becomes an issue but you wouldn’t know it from the performance,” he said. “You wouldn’t have known, if you were a neutral coming to the game, that we are on a bad run of form.

“I think we have to take a lot of confidence from the performance – obviously not the result – but know that if we play that way again, results will change.”
