Howley Future Could Be In Ireland

Wales attack coach Rob Howley could reportedly be set for a move to Irish rugby, with Munster looking to appoint him.

The 48-year-old had been tipped to succeed Warren Gatland as Wales head coach when the New Zealander leaves the role after the autumn World Cup in Japan, but ruled himself out of staying as part of the set up.

Instead, he has indicated he would prefer to move back into club rugby, which has put Munster on alert, according to reports coming from Ireland.

The Limerick-based outfit are thought to want more experience in the coaching department with current attack coach Felix Jones in the infancy of his career having been forced to retire as a player in 2015 due to concussion.

Howley, on the other hand, has been part of the Wales set up since 2008 and has enjoyed plenty of success, including this year’s Grand Slam in the Six Nations.

The report does not state whether Howley would actively replace Jones or just work alongside him.
