Hughton Admits Concern over Attacking Options

Brighton boss Chris Hughton admits he is likely to be light on attacking options following confirmation of Florin Andone’s ban. The Romanian was handed a three-match retrospective ban by the Football Association over the weekend.

He was deemed to have elbowed West Brom’s Sam Field in last week’s fourth-round replay win at the Hawthorns.

Andone served the first of his three games on Saturday as Brighton fell to a 3-1 loss against Burnley, while he will go on to miss the FA Cup tie with Derby and the Premier League trip to Leicester on February 26.

Hughton admits he is concerned about his attacking options over the next few weeks as they look to recover their form. “It is a concern and a big disappointment.

If I’m looking where we are at the moment, we have used (Jurgen) Locadia more so on the left hand side in a 4-3-3,” Hughton told The Argus. “Locadia can play number nine – but probably in the way we are playing it leaves us light up front. So yes, it’s a disappointment and a blow.”
