Ireland Handed Henshaw Boost

Ireland ace Robbie Henshaw could be ready for the start of the Guinness Six Nations as he steps up his return from injury.

Henshaw has been on the sidelines since suffering a hamstring injury against Argentina back in November and there were fears he could miss the start of the Six Nations campaign.

However, the player is making excellent progress and Leinster coach Stuart Lancaster has revealed that the centre could even be fit and available for their European clash with Toulouse this weekend.

“He’s not going to train today but he’s certainly moving along nicely,” said Lancaster. “If things go well today there’s a good chance he could train tomorrow, which would put him in contention [for the Toulouse game].”

The Irish begin the defence of their Six Nations title against England on February 2 and coach Joe Schmidt will be keeping his fingers crossed that Henshaw makes it.
