Kent Keen To Move On From Liverpool

On-loan Rangers winger Ryan Kent is frustrated with successive loan moves and is ready to leave Liverpool permanently this summer.

The 22-year-old remains under contract at Anfield until 2022 but appears to have little chance of breaking into Jurgen Klopp’s first-team plans anytime soon.

Kent has impressed at Rangers on loan this season, scoring six goals and managing nine assists from 40 appearances in all competitions, and his displays have led him to be shortlisted for both the PFA Scotland Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year awards.

The winger has had loan spells at Coventry, Barnsley, Freiburg, Bristol City and now Rangers in recent years but says he’s now tired of being constantly farmed out elsewhere and wants to join a club full-time.

He said: “I want to kick-start my career somewhere now. I am tired of changing clubs each year, I want to settle down somewhere.

Liverpool have been good to me, but the enjoyment factor of going back there each year and doing well in pre-season and going back out on loan, it is a repetitive cycle. “Then Steven Gerrard provided this opportunity for me.

I wouldn’t have got the opportunity to play in the Europa League anywhere else. In my eyes, the season has been a success.” Kent appears keen to force through a permanent move to Ibrox, while Liverpool legend and current Gers boss Gerrard has previously made it clear he would like to sort out a deal with the Reds this summer.

Kent added: “I have three years left on my contract at Liverpool and there’s not much I can really do. Whether or not I get opportunities to go elsewhere during the summer, I’d want a club with ambition, a club that’s driven on getting silverware.”
