Kerr Allays Durant Fears

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr has downplayed fears over the seriousness of an ankle injury suffered by Kevin Durant.

All-Star forward Durant was forced to leave the court midway through the final quarter of Sunday night’s defeat to the Phoenix Suns after he landed on centre Deandre Ayton’s foot.

Having not returned to the game, there were concerns Durant could be set for a spell on the sidelines, but Kerr has been keen to play down the significance of the injury.

“I think he’s going to be alright,” said Kerr, who added he doesn’t expect Durant to require an MRI scan. “He had an ankle contusion, but I don’t think it’s bad.

“I talked to him briefly, he didn’t seem to think it was too bad.”
