Kimmich Sympathises With Muller predicament

Joshua Kimmich is hoping Thomas Muller stays with Bayern Munich but can understand why he is becoming frustrated at the Allianz Arena. The Bayern legend is struggling to get a game with the club at the moment and has not started since the 1-1 draw with RB Leipzig back in September.

That has kicked off suggestions that a January exit could be on the cards for Muller, who may push for a move away when the transfer window opens again.

Manchester United and Arsenal are among the clubs to be linked with a swoop, but Kimmich is hoping the 30-year-old remains with the Bavarians. “In the first place a very big identification figure would leave the club, especially for the fans,” Kimmich said.

“I myself know the Bayern only with Thomas Muller. Without him the club would not be there, where it is now. It’s the case that when he comes into the game he always plays well. In the last game he has set up another goal. Also in the games before.”

Even so, Kimmich has found himself in a similar position in the past and can understand why Muller is frustrated with the fact current boss Niko Kovac is leaving him out. The 24-year-old “can understand” Muller’s ire and says it is “completely normal” that the player is running out of patience at his boyhood club.
