Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says Naby Keita is still learning and is sure to get even better once he settles into his new surroundings. Keita, who finally arrived at Anfield from RB Leipzig in the summer after the deal was wrapped up 12 months ago, has caught the eye with his early performances for the Reds.
The Guinea international again impressed in Liverpool’s 2-0 win at Crystal Palace on Monday night, but Klopp says they have yet to see the best of the talented midfielder.
Keita is still learning the Liverpool way, and once he is up to scratch tactically, Klopp says there will be no stopping him.
“He’s very shy and not very extroverted but on the pitch you don’t see it. He needs to settle a little bit. He’s next to Sadio all the time [in training],” Klopp said.
“Everybody loves Naby but I don’t know if he loves us because he doesn’t speak a lot. But football-wise you can see the potential is outstanding but we have to give him time.
“Defensively he’s very stable in his challenges. Tactically he can improve, and he must improve, but what else I don’t know.”
