Kombouare Sacked By Guingamp

Ligue 1 strugglers Guingamp have sacked coach Antoine Kombouare with the club bottom of the Ligue 1 standings. Former Paris Saint-Germain defender Kombouare has been in charge at the Stade de Roudourou since May 2016 but has been shown the exit door after 12 top-flight games this term.

His side managed to win only one of those and are rooted to the foot of the table, with just seven points to their name.

Sunday’s 5-0 thrashing at Nantes appears to have been the final straw for the club’s board, who have placed Vincent Rautureau and Sylvain Didot in temporary charge until a permanent successor can be found.

Guingamp finished 12th last season and the one positive aspect from their woeful start is that they are not yet cut adrift from the rest of the teams, with Thierry Henry’s Monaco only ahead of them on goal difference and 15th-placed Angers just five points better off.
