Konta Splits With Another Coach

Johanna Konta has parted company with her coach Michael Joyce after less than 12 months together. The current British number one started 2018 as a player in the top 10, but after a torrid time in this year’s Grand Slams, she has tumbled down the rankings to 45th.

Konta has now taken the decision to part ways with Joyce and, after playing in Moscow next week, will hope to have a new coach by her side ahead of pre-season training.

It has been a somewhat unsettled spell for the Australia-born star, who has had three coaches in as many years, with Esteban Carril and Wim Fissette also moving on.

Konta will be hoping her next coach brings her more stability, after failing to progress beyond the second round of her past six tournaments.
