Kubica Critical Of Williams

Williams racer Robert Kubica says he is not currently happy with his team for taking decisions behind his back. The Pole has vented his annoyances at the team in recent weeks after they told him to retire from the Russian Grand Prix to preserve parts for future races – in a move which one of the team’s major sponsors questioned.

Then, after crashing out of the hastily-rearranged qualifying session due to the incoming Typhoon Hagibis, Kubica’s car was repaired and reverted back to a previous specification with old parts, despite the fact he and team-mate George Russell had driven with new parts. It is another chapter is what has been a dismal season for the English team, who have spent virtually every race languishing at the back.

Kubica has scored their only point of the season after finishing 10th at the German Grand Prix – only profiting due to the wet weather. And, after the race in Suzuka, Kubica praised the mechanics for fixing his car quickly but says he should have been consulted about the changes. “The race was difficult, as you could expect, the guys did an amazing job, not the first time this year, and it’s really amazing what they are doing with what we have,” Kubica said.

“I think in the difficult period we all try to do our best and it’s amazing how in such a difficult year they are still able to don’t give up, as we all try to do, but unfortunately I have mixed feelings about this weekend. “We started this morning before getting into the car, so yep, after disappointing Russia race there were decisions taken before qualifying without even letting me know, and I think this is not the right way.”
