Leishman Eyeing Final Charge

Leishman Eyeing Final Charge

Marc Leishman believes his driving could help him chase down Sentry Tournament of Champions leader Gary Woodland on Sunday.

World number 20 Leishman, who won his fourth PGA Tour title at the CIMB Classic last year, carded a five-under-par 68 on Saturday to climb into third position on -13, leaving him four strokes behind American leader Woodland.

Northern Irishman Rory McIlroy is a shot better off than the Australian whilst US pair Xander Schauffele and Bryson DeChambeau are in a share of fourth on -12, five off the pace.

It is building up to be an exciting final round in Hawaii and Leishman is hoping he can maintain his impressive form with the driver to lift the trophy for the first time.

“It’s been years since I’ve driven it this well and, hopefully, I can drive it like that tomorrow,” he was quoted as saying by the New Daily. “I will need to because Gary is playing great golf, then Rory is just behind him and, as big hitters, they are likely to make a lot of birdies.”
