Lennon Stays Put At Turf Moor

Burnley have confirmed Aaron Lennon will stay at the club for another season, while three first-team players have been released.

Lennon and full-back Phil Bardsley both had options in their existing contracts activated to keep them at Turf Moor next season.

Belgium midfielder Steven Defour also remains under contract for 2019/20 but the Clarets have allowed three senior players to move on.

Left-back Stephen Ward has ended his five-year stay at the club, while goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard has also not had his contract renewed.

Veteran striker Jon Walters is retiring from football due to injury, but fellow former Stoke ace Peter Crouch is set for talks with manager Sean Dyche after his deal came to an end.

The rest of Dyche’s senior squad remains under contract as they prepare to enjoy the summer break before the start of pre-season.
