Ademola Lookman is determined to fight for his place in the Everton side and says he will grab any opportunity that comes along. The forward impressed while on loan with German side RB Leipzig in the second half of last season and was hoping that would lead to more appearances for the Toffees in this campaign.
However that has not been the case and the youngster has made just five Premier League substitute appearances so far this season under the leadership of new boss Marco Silva.
Lookman got a rare chance to shine against Gor Mahia on Wednesday night and took the opportunity well with a goal in a 4-0 win.
The forward is still a target for Leipzig but for now he seems ready to fight for his future at Goodison Park. “I always say I’m always in competition with myself to always get better and improve and that’s what I keep doing every single day,” Lookman told the Echo.
“It is a long season so hopefully opportunities [to play] will arise but when it comes I’ll be ready. “I’m always looking forward, always looking to improve and that’s what I’m going to keep on doing – to always get better as a player and as a person.”
