Lowry Takes The Positives

Lowry Takes The Positives

Shane Lowry says he is willing to take the positives from his near miss on Sunday at the RBC Heritage.

The Irishman began the final round a shot off the pace and took the lead after three birdies in his opening six holes.

However, barring another stroke picked up at the 14th, Lowry failed to improve his score, while he carded a bogey at the ninth and a double at the 12th.

Those cost him dear as he eventually finished two behind winner C.T. Pan in a tie for third. The result at Hilton Head could have been so much better for the 32-year-old and while he admitted to being frustrated, Lowry was keen to look on the bright side of his performance. “I personally feel like it almost got away,” Lowry said. “I’m a little bit disappointed.

This was my best week in quite a while. “So many positives to take from this week and going forward, I’m looking forward to next week. After coming so close, it’s hard to describe what it’s like, but I’m sure I’ll get over it and move on. “It’s the best I’ve hit the ball in a while.

I’ve already won this year, so this is my ninth tournament. A win and another great chance to win, so I suppose I’m doing things right.”
