England’s Alex Lozowski has lodged an appeal against an extended ban as he looks set to miss the clash with South Africa. The Saracens centre was found guilty of entering a ruck in a dangerous manner during the Heineken Champions Cup clash against Glasgow Warriors.
Lozowski made contact with hooker Fraser Brown during the game on October 14 and was initially suspended for two weeks as a result.
However, European Professional Club Rugby extended the ban after realising he would only miss one match before linking up with Eddie Jones’ men.
Lozowski is now banned until November 5, meaning he misses the clash at Twickenham two days earlier.
An EPCR statement read: “The player is appealing against the initial finding that the alleged act of foul play warranted a red card, and against a subsequent review of the sanction which found that his period of suspension should be extended.”
