Lukaku Told To Find New Club

Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku has been advised he needs to leave Old Trafford and find himself the right club. The advice has come from Belgium coach Roberto Martinez, who believes it would be best for all parties if the striker moved on in search of a fresh challenge this summer.

Lukaku is under contract until 2022 but he has slipped down the pecking order under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and Martinez says a move away is needed. “It is now important that Romelu finds the right club,” Martinez told Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws. “It would be a good thing for both parties.”

Inter Milan are known to be chasing the 26-year-old, who has fired home 42 goals in 96 games for United, but so far a deal has not been agreed. The Nerazzurri are now coached by former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte, who is keen to strike a deal, but the fee appears to be the problem with United looking to recoup as much of the £75million they paid to Everton, as possible.

  • United looks over ambitious. How can they sell a player whom they bought 75m pounce years ago for that same amount, even as they no longer use him regularly again. Please
oh! they should allow him to go at a cheaper price, so as to rediscover himself afresh.
