Lyon Mull Over Move For Celtic’s Edouard

Lyon are planning another raid on Celtic as they have set their sights on forward Odsonne Edouard. The Ligue 1 club forked out a reported €22million to snare Moussa Dembele from the Scottish outfit last summer and the 23-year-old has impressed in France after 15 goals in 35 appearances so far.
Reports now claim Lyon have set their sights on Edouard, who came through the Paris Saint-Germain youth system but never managed a senior appearance for the French champions.

Edouard has enjoyed a strong start to the season, with six goals in 11 appearances, and Lyon are believed to have sent scouts to keep tabs on the forward in recent weeks.
Les Gones are keen to line up a potential replacement for either Dembele or Memphis Depay, who were both the subject of transfer speculation over the summer, and Edouard may well be the man they turn to if one of the two stars departs.

Celtic will be desperate to keep hold of Edouard and they are in a strong bargaining position as he is under contract until 2022. However, they may still struggle to resist a big offer from the Parc Olympique Lyonnais regardless.

Lyon could opt to make a move in January but a swoop next summer seems more likely, particularly if Celtic manage to reach the knockout stages of the Europa League as they will then be reluctant to sanction any major exits in the winter window.
