Maddison Praises ‘World Class’ Vardy

James Maddison has praised the performances of Leicester City team-mate Jamie Vardy since the arrival of manager Brendan Rodgers.

Former England international Vardy struggled under former boss Claude Puel and the duo were believed to have clashed numerous times during their time together at King Power Stadium before the latter was sacked on February 24.

Rodgers has since been placed in charge and there has been a massive upturn in results, with the Foxes narrowly losing 2-1 to Watford in the Northern Irishman’s debut match before sealing four consecutive Premier League victories.

Vardy has been on top form during the impressive run, scoring six goals from his last five outings, and Maddison has been full of praise for the hitman. “He’s been back amongst the goals for about seven weeks,” he was quoted as saying by the Leicester Mercury. “I don’t know how many goals he’s scored since the new gaffer has come in, but he’s a pleasure to play with.

He’s brilliant. “He’s a world-class striker. He makes mine and Youri’s (Tielemans) life easy.

His movement is unbelievable, little bits of movement that people don’t always pick up on but he’s a pleasure to play with and he’s a world-class finisher. “We’ve got a good relationship.

We feed off it and we have a good relationship off the pitch as well which is important. We’re constantly talking. He’s a top guy as well so hopefully, we can keep kicking on with it.”
