Harry Maguire was reportedly missing from Leicester’s training session on Monday as he continues to be linked with Manchester United. The 26-year-old England international defender has been heavily linked with a move away from the King Power Stadium this summer with United already failing with one bid, while Manchester City are also thought to be keen.
Maguire has so far got his head down and worked hard in pre-season for the Foxes with boss Brendan Rodgers praising him after Saturday’s 2-1 friendly win at Stoke. The Northern Irishman also insisted that there were no updates regarding his future as United have so far failed to match their £80million valuation.
However, United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is desperate to get Maguire to Old Trafford before the August 8 deadline and reports claim their chief executive Ed Woodward is continuing to hold talks with Foxes officials. Previous reports have claimed that Maguire would be keen to join the Red Devils and news of his absence from training has only heightened speculation that a deal could finally be in the offing.
