Manchester United are planning an ambitious January swoop for Leicester City midfielder James Maddison, according to reports. The Red Devils already spent over £100m earlier this summer, bringing in Maddison‘s former Foxes teammate Harry Maguire, Daniel James from Swansea City and Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace.
According to The Mirror, United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer now has his sights set on Maddison, who was one of the Premier League’s most impressive performers last season.
The newspaper says that while United will make a sizeable bid in January – similar to the £80m splashed out on Maguire – discussions over a deal will probably continue into next summer.

The report adds that while Leicester are keen to keep hold of Maddison, the East Midlands outfit will be unlikely to resist a mega-money offer for their star player.
Maddison is expected to be named in Gareth Southgate’s senior England squad for the first time this week for upcoming games against Bulgaria and Kosovo, with the 22-year-old only featuring in the Three Lions’ Under-21 setup to date.11 BUSINESS NUGGETS FROM SUPER EAGLES BRONZE MEDAL TRIUMPH.
