Marseille Prepare Ntcham Bid

Marseille are reportedly preparing a summer swoop for Celtic midfielder Olivier Ntcham. New L’OM boss Andre Villas-Boas is seemingly wasting no time in reshaping his squad after being confirmed as Rudi Garcia’s successor at the Stade Velodrome earlier this week.

One of the first areas the 41-year-old has pinpointed to strengthen is in the middle of the park and reports in Scotland are suggesting he is about to launch a bid for Celtic ace Ntcham. Ntcham has been at Parkhead since joining from Manchester City in 2017 and he enjoyed a stellar first season at the club, although he lost his place in the starting XI during the 2018-19 campaign, particularly once Neil Lennon arrived as the interim manager in February.

Lennon is widely expected to be named the permanent successor to Brendan Rodgers at Parkhead over the coming days and that could push Ntcham closer to the exit door. Marseille appear to be at the front of the queue if Ntcham does look to move on, although the 23-year-old still has three years remaining on his contract with Celtic, so any potential suitors will have to pay a significant fee if the Glasgow giants are to sanction a transfer.
