Marseille are reportedly eyeing a double Premier League swoop for Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud and Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny. World Cup winner Giroud has been linked with a return to his home country this summer even though he only joined Chelsea from Arsenal in January.
The forward was an unused sub in the Blues’ opening-day win over Huddersfield Town on Saturday and, according to Le 10 Sport, Marseille hope to persuade him to make the move back to Ligue 1.
The 31-year-old has been in England since 2012 when he left Montpellier for Arsenal and he scored 73 Premier League goals for the Gunners before his switch to Stamford Bridge.
Meanwhile, Elneny has emerged as another target for Marseille as he has slipped down the pecking order at the Emirates following the recent arrivals of Lucas Torreira and Mateo Guendouzi.
The Egyptian was also an unused sub at the weekend in Unai Emery’s side as Arsenal lost 2-0 to Manchester City.
Elneny has been with Arsenal since January 2016, making 36 league appearances.
