Lautaro Martinez admits he is keen to see more game time at Inter but is determined to keep working hard when given a chance. He has started three games and scored one goal but has been selected for the Argentina squad and hopes for a third international cap this week.
The youngster’s only Italian top-flight goal came in a 2-0 win over Cagliari on 29 September and, while disappointed not to be higher up the pecking order, he will knuckle down to push himself to the forefront of coach Luciano Spalletti’s mind.
“I’m not playing much for Inter, but I keep working hard to ensure I’m ready,” he told reporters. “I’d like to play more, but I’ll train here to prepare for my next game in the best possible way.
For me it’s a dream to be here and I enjoy myself every time I’m here. “I dream of the Copa America, as well as the World Cup: it’s the best thing there is.”
