Augsburg full-back Philipp Max has rebuffed reports that he was the subject of a summer offer from the likes of Paris Saint-Germain.
The 24-year-old German has become a key figure for the Bundesliga outfit after joining from Karlsruher SC in summer 2015 and he scored two goals last season, while also providing an impressive 12 assists.
In addition to big-spending French Ligue 1 champions PSG, Manchester United were also believed to be tracking him in the summer.
However, Max has since penned a new deal to stay at Augsburg until summer 2022 and denied that any offers were made from any club for his signature.
“Some things you read in the newspaper, some things are passed on through your agent,” he told Lattenkreuz.de.
“It was not that I was dealing with an offer.
“It was important for me to focus on pre-season. I think that went quite well.”
