McIlroy Ready To Push On

Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy claims his ‘best days are ahead’ as he tries to win his first major since turning 30.

The world number four will be trying to win his third PGA Championship title this week as he competes at Bethpage Black.

McIlroy will compete in the event for the 11th time but sceptics have questioned his chances after not winning a major since 2014.

However, the Holywood-born star is in good form and he is still on a high after winning the Players Championship in March.

He turned 30 at the start of this month and he believes the conditions will suit his game this weekend. “I definitely don’t feel 30,” said McIlroy. “This is my 11th PGA Championship, and it’s like, ‘where did those go?’ “I don’t know what age I feel, but my body is as good as it has been in a couple of years, which I’m really grateful for.

And every week that I tee it up, I feel like I’m gaining more experience that I can put into the next tournament and the next tournament. You know, I still believe my best days are ahead of me for sure.”
