Napoli have been hit by the news goalkeeper Alex Meret’s planned return from an arm injury has been put back to November.
The Partenopei paid out around 35 million euros to sign the highly-rated shot-stopper from Serie A rivals Udinese on a five-year contract.
However, Meret has been unable to make his debut for the side because of the injury which required surgery.
It was believed that the Italy Under-21 international would be available to coach Carlo Ancelotti once the bone had healed following the operation.
But the process is taking longer than initially expected and Meret must now return to see the surgeon on October 15 with a comeback date put back to mid-November’s clash against Genoa.
